I am now...

ALL MOVED INTO MY NEW FLAT!!! Woohoo!
I have just gotten the curtains finally bought and hung today. Mirrors have been put up, and the place has had a thorough going over by the cleaner.
All of a sudden, it feels cosy and homelike.
There are still areas that need to be dealt with - mostly minor bits that require a little more work than expected - but overall, I'm pretty happy. Other than still needing to find another flatmate, of course. I'm hoping that someone wonderful will pop up wanting a room soon, whether male or female. I don't want to feel anxious, or lose this lovely feeling of being comfortable in a brand new place, but the finances won't hold out forever. I need another flatmate!
But for now there's just me. My current only flatmate will be moving in on Sunday. Until then, I will sit and absorb the quiet and tranquility of my brand new flat. All by myself.
Bliss...

Date: 2010-02-04 08:08 pm (UTC)And if you did manage to find someone who wanted to move in, I would shower you with huggles!
Btw, it's odd that though we live so close now, I haven't seen you in ages! See you soon, yeah?

Date: 2010-02-20 05:46 pm (UTC)I'm living in upper Holloway at the moment and I'm not entirely sure I want to be as far out as Walthamstow, but I know P + M there, as well as someone else. And I work near Oxford Circus, so it would be easy to get to work, just taking a bit longer than it does right now. It turns out £550 is my absolute upper limit, but for rent only, so rent AND everything else for that, in a newly renovated place without dodgy management agencies, is quite an attractive prospect. I might even be able to *gasp* SAVE money for the future!
Anyway, I just wanted to say hi. P tells me he doesn't think we've met and I'm not sure I know of you from the info on your LJ, but I can see you know a couple of the same people. I'm also not sure how useful this comment is since I'm being a bit vague and noncommittal and practicalities might not work out or line up, but there's not much harm in commenting anyway :)

Date: 2010-02-22 01:19 pm (UTC)In terms of the room, I've just (literally about a week ago) gotten someone in. They might need a bit more space though, as they're thinking of moving in with their fiance, in which case I will definitely let you know!
However, I have just had a thought...there is another flat in Leyton which has a couple of rooms open. Very nice (I lived there for a year and a half!), it would probably be around £560-650 a month with bills included. Again, no dodgy management agencies - it's owned by my parents, above my dad's accountancy firm, and there's a few girls in there right now.
If you're interested, I can let you have some details. The rooms are free right now, so there's a possibility that they might be gone by May, but they're not being advertised (it's only for friends and employees of my dad) so they might still be free by then.
Let me know if that's helpful!
